STRAP on your space boots and get ready to take to the stars - Starhawk, the spiritual successor to the Warhawk third-person shooter game will be making its way to store shelves on May 8.
Released exclusively for the PlayStation3, Starhawk is set in the distant future where man has colonised planets to mine the mysterious rift energy.
The single-player campaign focuses on the story of Emmett Graves, a hired gunslinger who has to face a fierce outlaw and his gang.
Players will be able to compete online in 32 player battles on Starhawks' unique multiplayer mode that blends elements of real-time strategy and third-person shooting.
The game has a unique system called Build n' Battle that allows players to build structures on the fly such as defensive bunkers and armouries that are dropped from orbit, dynamically changing the map as the battle wages on.
Respawning players will be deployed via drop pods into battle from a landing craft and can steer within a limited range to a desired landing zone.
Vehicular combat plays a large role in the game and players can wreak havoc on the battlefield using massive flying mechs called Hawks.
