Hybrid Padfone Asus for Smartphone & tablet Price in Malaysia

PadFone (a combination of a smartphone and a tablet computer station) allows users to expand what they see on the small smartphone screen to a bigger tablet display.
This new hybrid concept combines the 4.3-inch Asus Android Ice Cream Sandwich PadFone with a 10.1-inch PadFone station, which will turn the latter into a full-fledged tablet computer.
Asus Malaysia country manager George Su says this new design in smartphone gives users the best of both worlds — communication and entertainment.
“The technology seamlessly transforms a smartphone into a tablet while at the same time, serves as an excellent platform for communication and sharing,” he says.
Targeted at both casual and business users, the PadFone will reduce the need for two SIMs, one for the phone and the other  for the tablet.
Slotting the 4.3-inch PadFone into the back of the PadFone station will transform it into a tablet.
Asus territory product manager Fei Yen says the  use of Asus DynamicDisplay technology allows a seamless transition between the standalone and docked modes, where most of the applications are automatically enhanced with their display layouts adjusted to suit the 10.1-inch tablet screen.
For example, a user can connect the PadFone to the PadFone station in the midst of typing an email without having to save or make adjustments to it first.
“The app will automatically be adjusted to suit the PadFone station’s 10.1-inch 1280X800 screen view,” says Yen.
The DynamicDisplay technology ensures that the app remembers where the user stops when slotting on the PadFone to the PadFone station so that whatever he is doing can be continued instantaneously on the bigger screen.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, the PadFone provides all the processing power and storage when docked, but the PadFone station charges the PadFone for up to 64 hours of extended use.
The PadFone comes with a 16GB flash storage, but users get an additional 32GB Asus Web storage free for three years. There is also a MicroSD expansion slot which supports up to 32GB of storage.
There is also a keyboard dock which comes with the PadFone station, while the Bluetooth stylus headset and stylus are available separately.
The Asus PadFone is available at RM2,399.
