Deputy IGP Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar has advised parties unrelated to the KFC fracas in Shah Alam on Feb 6 to refrain from interfering in the matter.
"This is a problem between the customer and the company and parties who are not involved should not interfere or try to instigate the situation," he said after launching the 'Rakan Cop Remaja' carnival here.
Local media had carried the news of the fight between a customer and restaurant staff due to the outlet having run out of fried chicken, but certain parties have alleged that it was caused by racial issues. Khalid said he felt the problem "can be solved through discussions between the parties involved, without any outside interference."
Selangor police deputy chief Datuk A. Thaiveegan said investigations into the case would be completed in a week.
He said statements had been recorded from staff at the restaurant.
