Celcom users are advised to ignore automated voice calls to their handphones requesting to know which political party they would vote for in the next general election.
Celcom, in its official statement, said it had nothing to do with the calls and advised its customers to ignore them.
"We wish to advise our customers to ignore such calls and messages as it is being administered by irresponsible parties requesting sensitive information.
"We wish to advise our customers against responding to such calls and should they find it obtrusive, report it to the relevant authorities."
Celcom also advised its users not to respond to any other voice calls requesting for sensitive information.
Local television programme producer S. Krishna said his wife had received the call at night but did not state her choice as she was not comfortable sharing such sensitive information.
