Penulis : Unknown on Wednesday, 15 February 2012 | 08:10

Malaysia stunned South Korea 3-2 on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals of the Thomas Cup Asian Zone qualifying tournament as the Group D champions.
They will take on Group B runner-up India Thursday and stand a good chance to reach the semi-finals and seal a ticket for the Thomas Cup Finals, which will be held in Wuhan, China from May 20-27.
The three points against South Korea came from Lee Chong Wei and men's doubles pairs Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and Lim Khim Wah-Goh V Shem.
Chong Wei defeated Lee Hyun-il 21-13, 21-15 but it was Kien Keat-Boon Heong and Khim Wah-V shem's victories that stole the show.
Kien Keat-Boon Heong went on a ferocious attack to finally beat their nemeses Ko Sung-hyun-Yoo Yong-sung 21-14, 21-19 in 39 minutes. It was their first win after losing all their six previous encounters.
Back-up shuttlers Khim Wah-V Shem justified the faith of the coaches by pulling the rug from down under Lee Yong-dae-Shin Baek-cheol with a fantastic 18-21, 21-19, 21-11 win.
Malaysia squandered two points through their singles players - Mohd Hafiz Hashim lost to Shon Wan-ho 22-24, 16-21 and Mohd Arif Abdul Latif lost to Hong Ji-hoon 17-21, 15-21.
