Johor Bahru : Imagine the shock of R.Y Tay 55 yeras, retired salesman, when he discovered a dead frong on a bottle of fish sauce yesterday.
Tay from puteri Wangsa, Ulu Tiram, realised something was amiss when he noticed a pale-coloured objects resembling a baby frog measuring around 5cm in length.
He had bought the fish sauce at a supermarket yesterday morning in Bukit Indah. I thought of trying a new brand as it was priced at RM1.99 a bottle. According to Tay, the sauce was made in Thailand. It weighed 820g and had a expiry date of Jun 20, 2013.
I want the health ministry to look into all products coming from overseas as they may be tainted.Tay speculate that the recent floods in Thailand could have been a possible cause for a frog to end up in the bottle.
He intends to keep the bottle and hopes the authorities will impose a ban on the manufacturer of this sauce.
