It is reported that Nayantara, Shriya Saran, Zarine Khan, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan and Mallika Sherawat were approached to perform the item number but the team roped in Mallika to do the sizzling steps of an item number in 'Oosthi'
Lyrics are penned by Vaali & Yugabharathi while Simbu himself penned lyrics for 'Pondaati' track which would resolve around a husband praising his wife.
Item track 'Kalasala' was sung by L.R.Eswari

Oosthi Movie synopsis
Simbu plays the role of a cop in Oosthi while Revathi plays his mother and Nizhalgal Ravi as his step father and Jithan Ramesh plays his brother. Richa Gangopadhyay plays his love interest.
Simbu is a corrupted police officer who falls in love with Richa. Simbu and his brother Jithan Ramesh are against each other as they are step brothers. Jithan Ramesh becomes selfish of his brother and joins the don group who ends up in trouble. Though Simbu is not in good terms with his own brother saves from the clutches of the villians.
The interesting twists and turns of 'Oosthi' and how does Simbu save his brother from the clutches of the villains forms the rest of the story to be watched onscreen
